I was tasked with creating a book cover for use on Amazon and Kindle. The author wanted something clean, crisp, and catchy so when viewed on Amazon at a small scale it still stands out. I needed to incorporate baking/cooking and the city, and the color red is a key color in the story. After researching what stood out best on Amazon, I found myself wanting a nice substantial font and clean cut visuals. The mixing bowl holds important symbols from the story. It was a pleasant surprise to find out that it was possible to order a print version as well! Synopsis: "When Tessa left her small hometown for a fast-paced advertising job and city lifestyle, she never considered that losing touch with Christmas traditions would impact her creative spirit. When a holiday campaign pitch for the firm’s biggest client falls flat, Tessa finds herself on a forced vacation back to Chestnut Ridge to face her mom’s expectations of a holiday like the old days and a confusing resurgence of feelings for the love she left behind. Desperate for guidance to make sense of her past decisions, demanding career and lost relationships, Tessa rediscovers her nana’s recipe book, where she’s reminded to stop and smell the cooking. A story of love, family and second chances, Cooking Up Christmas satisfies like a home-cooked meal shared during the holidays." View the book on Amazon |
